Winfred Talley

Funeral Service for Winfred Samuel Talley, 87, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 in the Field Street Baptist Church of Cleburne where Winn and Billye worshiped for 35 years. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. A visitation will begin at 9:15 A.M., at the church, prior to the service. Burial will be at 4:00 P.M., in the Concord Cemetery in Omaha, TX. Pallbearers will be Bob Talley, Nathan Talley, Pete Thauwald, Ron Talley, Herman Gatewood and Robert Talley.
Winfred Samuel Talley went to his Lord on Friday, August 15, 2014 in Cleburne, surrounded by his family. Winn was born April 7, 1927 in Omaha, to Robert Franklin and Susie Mae Baker Talley. He met Billye Inez Landers at Hardin Simmons University and they wed on Nov. 24, 1949 in San Angelo. Winn was a veteran of WWII and a long-time educator. He loved to run, play tennis and golf; but his favorite times were spent with his soul mate of 64 years, Billye.
Winn is survived by his wife, Billye Inez Talley of Cleburne; three children, Robert Wyn Talley and wife Jackie of Waco, Marsha Talley Thauwald and husband Pete of Lorena and Ronald Joe Talley and wife Belinda of Burleson and one sister, Allene McCright of Cleburne. Winn will be remembered as Papaw to his six grandchildren, Ashley Willson of Forney, Jason Taylor of Nashville, TN, Susan Boen of Waco, Bob Talley of Houston, Lynnette Talley of Three Rivers and Nathan Talley of Burleson; as well as his seven great grandchildren, Emma, Bethany, Katie, Allyson, Carrington, Jet and Collyns. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Cluron, Buel and Euel Talley and one sister, Maurine Swint.
John 3:16 was Winn’s favorite Bible verse-“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” Winn will be welcomed into the hands of God and join his loved ones who went home to our Lord before him.
