A celebration of life for William "Billy" Otis Bergstrom, 58, of Whitney, will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church located at 700 Woodard Ave, Cleburne, TX 76033.
William "Billy" Otis Bergstrom passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Whitney. He was born on May 22, 1968, in Fort Worth.
Billy devoted his life to his craft as a skilled floor installer, finding pride and fulfillment in his work. His hands shaped not just floors but comfortable homes and cherished spaces, a lasting testament to his dedication and talent.
Those who knew Billy will remember his infectious humor and outgoing spirit. He had an incredible knack for making people smile, often with a playful joke or a story told with an easy, hearty laugh. Billy loved the joys of simple pleasures: the friendly competition of a game of horseshoes, the thrill of trying his luck with the lottery, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, or casting a line into the peaceful waters at Meridian State Park. Billy leaves behind a legacy marked by warmth, laughter, and the profound love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
Always known as "Wild Bill," he was a fixture of sunshine in the lives of those around him. The sparkle in his eyes, his ever-present smile, and his famously luscious curls made him unforgettable. To Billy, family was everything, and the role he cherished most was that of "GrandPa." His love for his family, and especially his grandchildren, was evident in every hug, every grin, and every moment spent together. He relished sharing stories, fishing adventures, and special days with those he loved most.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Raymond and Wanda Lee Bergstrom and sisters, Roberta Taylor and Nova Pitts.
He is survived by his girlfriend of eight years, Cheri McCowen; sons, Terry Selby & his wife, Dana and Billy Jack Bergstrom & his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Daisy Bergstrom & her husband, Justin; grandchildren, Ava Selby, Lucas Selby, Emma Bergstrom, Aden Bergstrom, Angel Bergstrom, Faith Bergstrom, and Destiny Rogers; brothers, Robert Suth & his wife, Jennie and Orville Suth, and numerous other relatives and friends.
