Wes Lancaster

Service for Rev. Wes Lancaster, 72, of Grandview, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 2, 2023 at Blessed Hope Baptist Spirit Filled Church, 104 Turner Street, Cleburne Texas with Rev. James Chance officiating.  Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cory Lancaster, Jake Stanley, Johnathan Goodman, James Brown, Alex Romo, Brian Hallman, Dylan Hocking, and Haiden Hocking.

Wes passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 in Grandview. He was born November 27, 1950 in Cleburne. He married Kerri Janice Huffman on June 26, 2010 in Cleburne. Wes was the minister at Blessed Hope Baptist Spirit Filled Church of Cleburne for the past 36 years. He was a member of what he called the “Holy Ghost Club”. Wes was very faithful and dedicated to his Lord and church. Throughout his ministry and love of people, he touched countless lives. It has been said that he truly gave all he had to others. He was an animal lover of all kinds, especially horses. Wes was a “character”. He was a talented musician, being able to play anything instrument and sing as well. He was an avid reader and enjoyed writing songs and poems in his spare time. Wes will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Ellis Lancaster; mother, Ruby Violet Rhoades McVickers; son, Keith Lancaster; and sisters, Rosalynn White and Ruby Modine Southers.

Wes is survived by his wife, Kerri Lancaster; children, Dodi Lancaster, Adam Lancaster and his wife, Kat, Amber Hocking, Alisha Hocking, and Dylan Hocking; 12 grandchildren, Cory, Haiden, Jake, Ari, Karissa, Ali, Chestin, Zaylia, Valerie, Zakari, Zakiyah and Zoe; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
