Graveside services for Weldon Sadler, 93, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 5, 2026 in the Rosehill Cemetery, located at 960 E. 2nd Street, Cleburne, Texas 76031, with Pastor Stephen McCoy officiating. There is no public visitation or gathering set, however, those unable to attend services are encouraged to stop by the funeral home to sign the register book.

Robert Allen Weldon Sadler passed away in Cleburne, Texas on Monday, September 21, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1933 in Perkins, Oklahoma and grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He married Johnnie Lee Johnson on September 6, 1952 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They were married 52 years at the time of her death in 2004. Weldon was of the Christian faith and held on to that faith in his last years of life, often quoting scripture and asking others if they were Christians as well. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an Electrician with the Santa Fe Railroad for 11 years before joining Johns Manville, where he worked as a Shift Mechanic, retiring with 27 years of service in 1999. Weldon believed in working hard and supporting your co-workers as well, making him the perfect fit for both the Santa Fe Railroad and Johns Manville Unions, where he was a member for many years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Johns Manville and the NRA (National Rifle Association). He was a gun enthusiast and was happy to share his vast knowledge of firearms with anyone interested in them. It has been said that Weldon was a great story-teller, especially stories of his time in the Army and about his work. He had the “gift of gab” for sure and his stories will be missed by those around him. Weldon was a jokester as well – loved to laugh and make others laugh with him. He enjoyed camping and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout the years. Weldon leaves a legacy of patriotism, love of family, strong faith and work ethic that will mold generations to follow.

He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Orben “Bob” Weldon Sadler & Bonnie; mother and step-father, Ruth Ann (Scafe) Fuller & A.D.; son, Dean Sadler; and sister, Colleen Baker-O’Neal.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Allen Sadler & Julia; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth McCoy & Randy; grandchildren and their spouses, Holly Stearman & Jeremy, Stacey Kennedy & Zac, John Moon & Tracie, Andy Moon & Wendy, Matthew McCoy and Tara, Eric McCoy and Mandy, Jessica Welch & Andrew, and Caitlin Jordan & Ryan; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sister and brother-in-law, Jan Walker & Bobby; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
