Wayne Elliott

Wayne Elliott, 75, of Cleburne passed away, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Cleburne. He was born December 6, 1948, in Laredo, Texas to Odis and Lucy Margaret (Cardilli) Elliott. Wayne married Nora Hilda Botello on July 24, 1971, at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth.   Wayne served in the Vietnam Era receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star and the National Defense Medal with the United States Navy. Wayne worked in the propane industry for over 25 years for Mitchell Propane (Ameri Gas). He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Burleson. Wayne loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a jokester with a carefree spirit. He was strong-willed and has been described as a pistol. Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed reading and cooking. Wayne was known for his meat smoking and in ground cast iron baking. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

 

Wayne is survived by his wife, Nora H. Elliott; children, Joey Elliott and his wife, Darla, Kim Monk and her husband, Thurman; 4 grandchildren, Colten Elliott, Preston Elliott, Skylar Monk, and Chloie Lenning; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Looper and her husband, Alan and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Lucy Elliott.

 

Graveside service 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 10, 2024 in DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the funeral home.
