A graveside service for Vickie Lynn Wakeland, 73, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2026 in the Rosehill Cemetery, 960 E. Second St., Cleburne, TX 76031 with Pastor Stephen McCoy officiating. Danny Howe, Johnny Rogers, Jason Weigler, Bob Weigler, Dwight Mullen, and Forrest Fisher will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Vickie Lynn Wakeland, born on November 5, 1952, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in Plano, Texas. She was a woman known for her kind heart and unwavering dedication to others, often giving selflessly without seeking recognition. Vickie’s gentle nature and warmth were admired by all who knew her, and she was a beloved sister, friend, and colleague.
Throughout her life, Vickie displayed a spirited and competitive streak, especially when it came to games and sports. She was known to bring enthusiasm and energy to every board game and softball match. Beyond her lively spirit, she found joy and calm in nurturing plants, which reflected her genuine love for life and beauty in the simple things.
Professionally, Vickie devoted nearly thirty years to Alan Plummer Associates, where her commitment and work ethic made a lasting impact.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Lincoln and Nelda Wakeland, and her life-long friend, Darlene Barrow.
She is survived by her brother, Vance & his wife Paula; aunt, Marlene Sanderson, numerous cousins and friends. Vance cherishes her deeply, expressing that he could not have asked for a better sister.
Vickie Lynn Wakeland will be remembered not only for her kindness and warmth but also for her competitive spirit and the joy she brought to every endeavor. Her legacy of love and generosity endures in the hearts of all who knew her.
