Valinda Lee (Scott) Murray passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Cleburne. She was born on December 16, 1943.

She will be remembered as a warm and welcoming woman whose personality left an impression on those around her. She was a good cook and someone who never met a stranger, offering conversation and kindness with an easy, familiar spirit that made people feel at home in her presence.

Valinda found joy in the things she loved most. She enjoyed dolls, animals, and her “QVC” shopping and work, interests that brought her happiness and reflected her lively nature. Her Mini poodle, Peanut, was her world and held a very special place in her heart. Those who knew Valinda will remember a woman who embraced life in her own way, cared deeply, and brought warmth to everyday moments.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Wayne Murray; son, James Allen Godwin; parents, Jesse Herman Scott and Valeska Nora Elise Friederich, and brother, Allan Scott.

Valinda is survived by her daughter, Sherry Whitney; grandchildren, Richard Adam Spaulding, Christy Maples, Jessie Ray Spaulding & partner, Alicia Stevenson; great-grandchildren, Hayden DaVille, Noah DaVille, Zachary DaVille, Charles James Spaulding, and Bane Allen Spaulding.
