A funeral service for Thurman Sanders, 92, of Cleburne, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in the Bethel Temple Church 600 South Colonial Dr., Cleburne, TX 76033, with Reverend Mike Mizzel officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne, Texas with Shad Sanders, Caleb Sanders, Chris Sanders, Casey Baker, Brandon Barton, Windell Sanders, Johnny Sanders and Brett Bullard serving as pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, prior to service.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Bethel Temple Church, www.bethelcleburne.org, in lieu of floral tributes for the service.

Thurman Sanders passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. He was born on September 2, 1934. Thurman was a devoted member of Bethel Temple Church. A man of deep faith, he loved his Lord and carried that devotion throughout his life. He taught his family how to pray and be grateful for what you have in Life.

He will be remembered as someone who found joy in the things he loved most. He loved spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren and hanging out in his family barn. He was a collector of “treasures,” and he had a special love for animals, especially dogs and his donkey, Frito. Among the greatest blessings of his life was his wife of 72 years, Katy Ann Sanders, who was his biggest love.

Thurman will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him. His life was marked by faith, devotion, and a warm affection for the people and animals he held dear

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents and daughters-in-law, Deb Sanders and Barbara Sanders.

He is survived by his wife, Katy Ann (Archer) Sanders; children, David Sanders, Sheila Taff & husband, Kevin, Doug Sanders, Darrell Sanders & wife, Deanna and Dale Sanders & wife Erin; grandchildren, Stephanie, Mason, Chris, Amber, Brandon, Mindy, Summer, Autumn, Shad, Kasey, Caleb, Lacey, Bailey, Brady, numerous great-grand and great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
