Terri Lee Hancock passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 29th, 2026, in the comfort of her home at the Rafter H Ranch in Covington, Texas. Terri was a loving, headstrong, caring woman who never hesitated to speak her mind. If Terri had something to say, you were going to hear it—with absolutely NO hesitation. She had a heart as big as her personality, and she loved her family fiercely. She also loved her furry family just as much, and there was never a doubt about how deeply she cared for those she loved. Terri found joy in the simple things in life. She loved gardening, fixing people—whether they asked her to or not—and sitting on her front porch with a chelada in hand. And, of course, she was always happy to threaten to “kick your ass” from the comfort of her porch. That was Terri: loving, hilarious, stubborn, fiercely protective, and completely unapologetically herself. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

More than anything, Terri will be remembered for the way she fought for her family. She never gave up on them. She fought long and hard to keep everyone together, to make sure the people she loved were okay, and to hold her family close. No matter how difficult things became, Terri kept fighting. Her family was her greatest love, and she devoted so much of herself to making sure they remained a family. Her absence will leave a space that can never truly be filled. But her voice, her laughter, her stubbornness, her love, her porch-side threats, and the countless ways she cared for the people around her will live on through every person who knew and loved her. Terri was one of a kind. She loved hard, fought hard, spoke her mind, and never gave up on her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Joan (Minton)Westover.

Terri is survived by her husband of 23 years, Danny Hancock; children, John Ray Kite, Juan Tovar & his wife, Riley, Anthony Tovar, Christy Mullins & her husband, Charles, Gina Hancock & her spouse, James Hunt, and Amy Hancock; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two on the way; father, John Edward Westover; brother, Kenneth Westover; sister, Annie Westover, and her beloved fur babies.
