A funeral service for Steven Lee McClanahan, 57, of Rio Vista, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 29, 2025 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburn Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 North Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX 76033, with Pastor Chris Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in the Rio Vista Cemetery with Ronnie Shipman, James Reynolds, Scott Reynolds, Clint Blythe, Rex Meadows, and Steve Eckland serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Pruitt, Donnie Adaire, and Troy Kelso. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 1:00-2:00PM prior to service.
Steve McClanahan, born on January 18, 1968, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Rio Vista, Texas. A devoted husband and loving father, Steve’s life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family and a steadfast work ethic.
He was known for his incredible skill in fixing anything that needed repair, showcasing his resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities. An avid hunter, he spent many happy hours participating in this beloved pastime, often combining his passion for the outdoors with his love for history, especially the rich stories surrounding battlefields.
Steve was a proud employee of The City of Cleburne, Rio Vista ISD, and Brock ISD, where his dedication and skills were well recognized. The legacy of his hard work and love for those around him will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Married for 22 years, Steve shared a deep and enriching partnership with his wife, Tracie McClanahan. Together, they nurtured a home filled with love and joy, creating cherished memories with their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Windell “Buzz” McClanahan and Barbara Kay Lewis, and his son, Timothy McClanahan.
Steve is survived by his wife Tracie McClanahan; son, Steven McClanahan, and his daughters, Elizabeth McClanahan and Shawna McClanahan; his brother, David McClanahan, and cousins, John and Marilyn, and many extended family members.
