A Celebration of Life for Shirley Ann (Walker) Nixon, 90, of Cleburne will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Pollo Rosa Vineyard and Winery located at 1335 East FM 4, Cleburne, Texas 76033. 

Shirley Ann Nixon, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, in Cleburne. She was born on January 24,1936 in Austin, Texas. 

Shirley lived a life marked by determination, warmth, and deep devotion to the people around her. She was known as a gritty and funny woman whose strength of character carried her through life with grace and purpose. Smart, gorgeous, and always respectful, she left a lasting impression on those who knew her through her kindness, her helpful nature, and her strong love for family.

Shirley devoted more than 40 years to real estate, becoming a top producer and earning the trust of countless families along the way. Her work meant far more than transactions. She helped people find their dream homes and their very first homes, guiding them through important moments in their lives with care, knowledge, and genuine commitment. Her determination and professionalism made her widely respected, and her ability to connect with others made her especially beloved.

She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments, but for the spirit she brought to everyday life. Shirley’s humor, resilience, and generous heart shaped the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Childress, Eldon Harris, and Jim Nixon; son, Joe Allen Childress; parents, Mason Osborne Walker and Lucille Olean (Brown) Walker, and several brothers and sisters. 

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Harris; son, Shawn Childress; grandchildren, Davin Harris & his wife, Martha and an additional 11 grandchildren; great-grandchild, Hayes Harris and an additional seven great-grandchildren.
