Shelley R. Buchert passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack, with her husband, Steven by her side on May 15, 2026, in Westerville, Ohio. Born on January 25, 1962, in Blythe, California, Shelley's journey was marked by a remarkable warmth and an irresistible charm that touched everyone she encountered.
Shelley was truly never one to meet a stranger. With a magnetic soul and a heart wide open, people were naturally drawn to her. Her kindness and openness created connections wherever she went. She carried a unique love for nature, especially butterflies, which mirrored the gentle beauty she brought into the world. She found joy in collecting antiques and relished her time working out at the gym, staying active and vibrant. Shelley also deeply loved her fur babies, whose companionship was an enduring source of comfort and happiness.
Her adventurous spirit filled her life with unforgettable travels, particularly cruises that allowed her to explore new horizons and immerse herself in the wonders of the world. Shelley had a love for photography. She captured sunrises, sunsets and churches in particular. She was planning to write a book exhibiting her work titled, "The Way Home". Yet, above all, Shelley's greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. Her love for her family was boundless and unwavering, a guiding force that defined her life and legacy.
Shelley was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Beaman and Patsy Dave.
She is survived by her husband Steven Buchert; daughter Melanie Dickinson & her husband Clay; son Brandon Johnson & his wife Kelsey; four grandchildren, Colt and Diem Dickinson, and Finley and Brinkley Johnson, and her 2 fur babies Beau Jacque and Cotton.
Shelley R. Buchert leaves behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and connection. Her spirit, as free and beautiful as the butterflies she adored, will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege to know her.
