Shelby Jean Green

There are no set services scheduled for Shelby Jean Green, of Cleburne; however, a memorial service to celebrate Shelby's beautiful life and legacy will be held at a later date.

Shelby Jean Clark Green, affectionately known by all as "Sissy," passed away peacefully at her home in Cleburne, Texas, on August 28, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on February 24, 1936, in Edgewood, Texas, she brought warmth and kindness to all those who knew her throughout her remarkable life.

Shelby was the beloved daughter of Claude and Virgie Clark.

She was blessed with a spitfire personality, a wonderfully sassy spirit, and a knack for telling it exactly like it was. She kept everyone on their toes with her quick comebacks and infectious laughter. Whether hosting family gatherings, sharing a joke with friends, or enjoying time with her treasured bingo community, she approached every day with grace, compassion, and a wonderfully stubborn spirit. Her warm smile and clever humor will be dearly missed by those honored to have known her.

Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Virgie Clark; her son, Wayne Green; and her dearly missed siblings.

Shelby’s legacy is carried forward with deep love by her surviving family. She is survived by her sister, Dena Allen; her daughter, Patti McCann; her son, Charles Green, and his wife, Kim; and her son, Ricky Green.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Jayson McCann and his wife, Tanya; Keesha Lay and her husband, William; Kourtney Green; Jared McCann and his wife, Jennifer; and Stevie Johnson Green; as well as her great-grandchildren: Rebekah Chilton (Thomas), Aaron Streeter, Jasper Miller (Kendra), Joey Zavala, Trevor McCombie, Mariah Flores, and Karleah Green; and many more beloved great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
