Joy married Lavon Lambert in 1969 and they divorced in 1987. She married Douglas Keith Whitmire on August 19, 1994 in Cleburne, Texas. They have been marri,ed for 32 years at the time of her passing. Joy was a member of the Joshua Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a self-professed "Bible Only Christian", deeply rooted in her faith. Joy has been described as always positive and in a good mood. She worked diligently to build those around her up as well. Those who were blessed to know her - were better for her being a part of their lives. Joy was a collector of many things, but especially toy dolls. She was a member of the Arbor Society- and those that wish to memorialize her are encouraged to plant a tree in her memory and love of nature.

Joy's legacy of faith, love of family and giving to others will live on for generations to follow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrell Austin Miller and Minnie Emma Reinhotlz Miller.
