Selma Jean Wyatt passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Burleson, Texas. She was born on February 3, 1948, in Ithica, New York.

Selma will be remembered as a feisty, spirited, and loving woman whose strength and determination shaped the lives of those around her. She was a caregiver at heart, selfless in the way she looked after others and generous with her time, energy, and love. She had a huge heart and faithfully loved God throughout her life. A member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson, Selma carried her faith with her in the way she lived and in the care she gave to others.

She worked as an assembly line worker at Siecor Corporation, and she brought the same strong and determined spirit to her work that she showed in every part of her life. Selma was known for always helping with charities such as St. Jude, and for making room in her life and home for the people she loved. She always made a home for Stacey, stayed closely connected with family, and was often on the phone with her loved ones.

Her family knew her as someone who always took care of her grandchildren and who spent many years caring devotedly for her husband. She was sassy, strong, and full of life, willing to do things simply because she could. Selma found joy in the simple pleasures that made life bright and memorable. She loved Christmas, the Black Friday sales, and never passed up a good bargain, especially at garage sales. She also enjoyed collecting snowmen, a reflection of the warmth and cheer she brought into the lives of others. Her favorite flower was the light purple pansy.

Selma Jean Wyatt leaves behind the memory of a woman whose love was steadfast, whose heart was generous, and whose presence brought comfort, strength, and joy. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wyatt; parents, Arthur and Dora Schuster, and her siblings.

Selma is survived by her daughter, Stacey Burkitt & husband, Chris; grandchildren, Shelby Dando & husband, Eric and Cameron Burkitt; and great-grandchild on the way, Stryker Vaughn Dando.
