A graveside service for Sally Lou Strickland, lovingly known as “Pa”, 87, of Cleburne will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in the Bono Cemetery located at 500 FM 2331, Bono, Texas 76044, with Pastor John Hall officiating. Hoston Hanna, Saleton Morgan, Saddler Morgan, Brian Bolling, Casey Waits, and Dick Lee will serve as pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 11:30 to 1:30 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, prior to the graveside service at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, Texas. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Field Street Baptist Church (201 North Field Street, Cleburne, TX 76033) in lieu of floral tributes for the service.

Sally Strickland passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. She was born on March 21, 1938, in Sidney, Texas. Sally was the beloved wife of Charles Strickland, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. Their union was a testament to their love and commitment to one another. Sally's educational journey began at Cleburne High School, from which she graduated in 1956. She pursued a career as a barber and beautician, a profession she cherished, allowing her to express her creativity and serve her community. For 49 years, she shared her passion for teaching as a member of the Field Street Baptist Church, where she dedicated time to instructing the kindergarten class, leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives.

She had a particular fondness for her hair and her horses, reflecting her vibrant spirit and strong personality. Sally also represented the Johnson County Sheriff Posse for many years at the Fort Worth Stock Show and various events, showcasing her dedication to her community and her love for equestrian activities.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Strickland; her mother, Opal Etta Boyd Jones Lightfoot; her father, Slider Coke Jones; and her brother, Bennie T. Jones.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Saletta Strickland Morgan; grandchildren, Hoston Hanna and his wife Jordan, Saleton Morgan and his wife Halee Marth, and Saddler Morgan; great-grandchildren, Renlee Morgan, McKinley Hanna, and Shaylee Morgan; her brother, Charles "Casey" Jones and his wife Kathy; and her sister, Mary Brinkley, and many nieces, nephews, and their spouses.

Sally Lou Strickland's legacy will live on through the love she shared and the positive influence she had on the lives of those around her. "Pa" as her grandchildren call her, will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
