A memorial graveside service for Royce D. Bevers, 90, of Cleburne, will be held later at Cedar Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Denison, Texas, alongside his late wife Lynne Bevers,

Royce D. Bevers, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in Cleburne, Tx. He was born on May 9, 1935 in Graford, Texas. Royce lived a life defined by hard work, commitment, and love for those around him.
He married Lynne Douglas Wideman on November 17, 1978 in Lubbock, Texas. They were married 47 years at the time of her passing earlier this month.
His career began at Poka Lambro Rural Telephone Company in Tahoka, Texas where he started in 1958. Through his unwavering dedication and leadership, he rose to the position of General Manager, serving from 1973 until his retirement in May of 1990. Royce was known for his ability to connect with people, including his co-workers and the community by helping others.
Royce proudly served in the United States Army from January 10, 1955 to January 31, 1957.
Royce Bevers will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, and willingness to help those in need. He was a Christian and had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynne Bevers, whose memory he carried throughout the end of his life; parents, D.P. and Carrie Bevers; brothers, Cecil Bevers, Clarence Bevers and Billy Joe Bevers; and sister, Darlene Urban.
Royce is survived by his sons, Lance Bevers & his wife, Nancy, and Barry Bevers; daughter, Melinda Bevers; step-children, Blair Taylor & his wife, Nancy, and Brandi Estrada; grandchildren, Karson Bevers & his wife, Mikki, and Sydney Bevers & her fiancé, Mike MacEwan; great grandchildren, Emma and Hudson Bevers, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.
