Cole Hohmann passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 20th, 2026. He was a great storyteller, a determined competitor, a loyal friend, a voice of reason, and an all-around amazing person. His genuine, kind soul lit up every room he entered, filling it with his natural warmth and humor. With an infectious smile and a huge heart, he enveloped his family and friends, ready to lend a hand or a listening ear whenever someone needed support. Cole lived his life to the fullest, extending grace and generosity to all. His loss is felt deeply by those who had the good fortune of knowing him. He was truly one of a kind.

Cole was born on January 22, 1996, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Sabra (Salli) Cooper and Christopher (Chris) Hohmann, and to his devoted older brother, Cason. Their family was later completed with siblings Carli and Chase (CJ). In 2008, they moved to Michigan, where Cole graduated from Brighton High School and then from Western Michigan University. He was a gifted hockey player who competed in youth tournaments across the country. In this extended community, Cole was admired and appreciated for his skills on and off the ice; he was the ultimate teammate. The recent outpouring of support and affection from players, coaches, and parents who had the chance to spend time with him during that decade reflects Cole’s diffuse and extraordinary impact.

Above all else, Cole loved his family. He was an exceptional sibling to Cason, Carli, and Chase, an outstanding son to Salli and Chris, and a loving uncle to his new niece, Harper. Growing up playing hockey with Cason and engaging in epic rounds of video and board games with Carli and CJ are among the many everlasting memories they will always treasure. A running family joke was which of the four kids was the “#1 Hohmann,” and, without a doubt, Cole will forever hold that title.

Cole was predeceased by his grandfather Jimmy Dale Snelson and aunt Kerri Sue Hohmann. He is survived by Salli and her husband Steven, Chris and his wife Teresa, Cason and his wife Danielle and their daughter Harper, Carli and her husband Quinn, Chase, his grandmother Linda Snelson, grandmother Linda Bell and her husband Charles, grandfather Craig and his wife Marcia, step-siblings Jessica (Ness) and Jared Cooper, Alexa White and Raegan Porta.
