Richard Clynch

Tom Clynch went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Candace Clynch of 48 years and 3 children, Tricia, Troy, Todd, and 6 grandchildren. The family asks that donations be made to the City of Alvarado Animal Services in lieu of flowers, as Tom and Candy have always had a passion for animals.

Richard Thomas Clynch was born on April 7, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born to Mergie and Lettie Clynch. Tom attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth and then enlisted in the Navy. He served our country with dignity through the end of the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He then found a passion for the medical industry and graduated with a B.S. in biology and chemistry from Texas Wesleyan University using the GI Bill. He was a pioneer in the medical sales industry and owner of two medical distributorships for over 30 years. Later in life he received his real estate brokerage license through Texas Tech and owned Tom Clynch Realty in Johnson County. He also served as a director of Members' Credit Union.

Tom married his wife Candy in 1974 and they soon moved to Grandview and built their home. They found a passion for cutting horses, and he served as a director in the American Cutting Horse Association. He was a Free Mason and member of the Masonic Lodge of Fort Worth. He also was an avid silversmith, and handcrafted custom hunting knives which were one of a kind. Tom was a life long learner who excelled in many areas. He was passionate about his family, friends, and building relationships with those around him. He lived a life of integrity and dignity, and will be missed by those who loved him.

A private graveside burial has been arranged with Watt’s Chapel Cemetery.
