Pearline Domino

AND THE KING SHALL ANSWER AND SAY UNTO THEM, VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, INASMUCH AS YE HAVE DONE IT
UNTO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BRETHRE N, YE HAVE DONE IT UNTO ME . MATTHEW 25:40 KJV

On October 21, 1931, God custom designed a baby girl named Pearline Battles for James T. and Cora Bea
Walton Battles, of Tyler, Texas. She was the second of eleven children, raised in the beautiful City of Roses,
Tyler, Texas, where she grew and developed into a lovely young lady.
Later in life, Pearline began to create her own hue, by working at a well-known Café in Tyler. While employed
there, she met a distinguished gentleman named Elbert Lee Domino Sr., adding love and warmth to her life.
On September 29, 1950, Pearline married Elbert, her best friend, and the love of her life. This union and
partnership blossomed for almost 50 years! Pearline and Elbert were blessed with seven precious children,
for which they were thankful to God.
In 1963, the family united with the Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church in Tyler, Texas. The family later
moved to Dallas and attended the City Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church. While in Dallas, Sis. Pearline
worked at a Laundry Facility to help support her children through Church School. Determined that their
children should have a Christian Education, Pearline and Elbert later moved the family to Keene, Texas.
There they united with the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cleburne, Texas, where she enjoyed
an extended membership. While attending the Emmanuel Seventh-day Church, Pearline was an active and
dedicated member, holding multiple positions, including Church Treasurer, Sabbath School Superintendent,
and Deaconess.
Throughout her years, Pearline enjoyed cooking and hosting Sabbath dinners. She was passionate about her
hobbies, which included sewing quilts for her grandchildren and the homeless. She spent tireless hours
helping others, which was a driving force in her life. She was an expert at canning foods, making home-made
jellies, dill pickles, cooking, and baking. She had a special gift for making the best home-made rolls, and her
homemade dressing was second to none.
She was loved and cherished by many including her church family. She was faithful until the end and will be
sorely missed; however, her legacy and spirit of love, generosity and gentleness will live on through her
family and all those who were touched by her life.
On December 16, 2023, Pearline closed her eyes to sleep, now awaiting her Savior’s return. She leaves to
continue her legacy of service, her children; Maggie (Eugene Sr.) Moore, of Cedar Hill, Texas; Arquilla
(Clarence) Wright of Eustis, Florida; Linda-deceased (Fred) Bauer of Mexia, Texas; Elbert (Patricia) Domino
Jr. of Austin, Texas; Michael Domino of Grand Prairie, Texas; Jimmie (Kimm) Gent of Apopka, Florida; three
sisters, Elizabeth Holmes, Shirley (Chester) Cobb, Claudia Ferguson; three brothers, James Battles, Maurice
(Betty) Battles, Fred (Helen) Battles; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,
and friends.
Pearline was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Lee Domino, Sr.; a son, David Lee Domino; two
sisters, Parthenia Wynn and Helen Battles; and two brothers, Arthur Battles and Lafane Battles, Sr.
We await to see Pearline again, when the Lord comes back to take us all home.
