Patsy passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, in Cleburne. She was born on September 30, 1935, in Kopperl, Texas to T.K. and Ada Phinney Lillard. In 1941 her family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas where she attended first through fourth grade. Later the family moved to a 2,500-acre ranch in Goatneck. In 1956 they moved to Cleburne where she lived the remainder of her life. She graduated from Cleburne High School in 1954. In 1956 Patsy was selected the first Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Sweetheart, an honor she always cherished. Patsy was an avid sports fan, and she even played volleyball in high school. But one of her favorite hobbies was traveling. After her retirement, she with a group of friends, traveled on many trips all over the world.
Patsy worked for the Tandy Corporation in Ft. Worth for thirty-six years, at which time she was a buyer for both the Fair Department Store and Meacham’s Fashion Store. In 1962 she transferred to Radio Shack and became the Director of Rebuy. She retired in 1998. Patsy was a member of the First United Methodist Church for many years. While a member she served on many committees, but mostly loved working with the children and youth. For several years she helped with vacation Bible school and chaperoned youth mission trips. Patsy can be best remembered for her love of life. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed her family and friends, and as her brother Gary, once said “Patsy ruled the nest from the beginning, let me tell you.” She was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; and uncle, R.M. Lillard; her brother Tommy Lillard and his wife, Mary; and aunt, Margaret Brown.

She is survived by her brother Gary Lillard and his wife, Patricia of Cleburne; nephews, Kelly Lillard and his wife, Lisa of Cleburne, and Patrick Lillard and his wife, Catie of Marble Head, Massachusetts; three great nieces, Andrienne and Anna Belle Lillard of Cleburne, and Markie Lillard of Marble Head, Massachusetts; one step niece, Cheyenne Green of Cleburne. She is also survived by Aunt Louise Lillard of Cleburne, and cousins Gay Denham and family of Cleburne, Dale Brown Jones and her family of Grand Prairie, Texas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Trails Nursing Home, roommate Wanda, and the Freedom Hospice Care.
