Otho Smith

Service for Otho Edgar Smith, 96, of Fort Worth, formerly of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Henderson Street Baptist Church. The Reverend Bob Underwood will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Otho Edgar Smith passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Ft. Worth. He was born May 27, 1917 in Cleburne to Claude M. and Olga Enid Daily Smith. He married Wera Mae Davis in 1941 in Cleburne and she preceded him in death in 1997.

Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy and worked as a painting contractor until retiring. He was a member of Henderson Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Anne Pope and husband Curtis; son, Jerry Smith and wife Patricia; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Sam Smith and wife Mary Jo; and sister, Faye Smith. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace, Melba and Mary; and son, Jim Smith.
