Opal “Lynn” (Shelton) Bedford, of Keene, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2026, in Keene. She was born on November 9, 1934, in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Lynn will be remembered for her deep love of music and for the many ways she shared that gift with others throughout her life. She played the piano for various churches and for weddings, offering her talent with generosity and grace. She also served as a church organist, bringing beauty, reverence, and comfort to the occasions and gatherings where she played. Music was an abiding part of her life, and those who heard her play will remember the warmth and spirit she expressed through it.

Her life reflects a quiet devotion to the things that mattered most to her, and her musical gifts left a lasting impression on the communities she served. Whether in church settings, at wedding celebrations, or at the organ, Lynn shared something meaningful of herself each time she played.

Opal “Lynn” Bedford will be remembered with love and appreciation for a life marked by music, service, and heartfelt expression. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bedford, Jr.; parents, Theodore Shelton and Mildred Dabbs Shelton; and her brothers, Eugene Shelton, TR Shelton, James Shelton, and Dennis Shelton.

She is survived by her children, Genni Kerbs & husband, John, Bruce Bedford & wife, Jennifer, and Melinda Brown; grandchildren, Brittney Kerbs, Shelby Kerbs, Meagan Walker, April Donald, Brandon Raines, Morgan Lindley, Aubrey McQue, Aaron Brown, and Alex Brown; sisters, Leah Novakovich, Sarah Karcich, and Sue Freligh; many great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
