Noah was born on April 30, 1943, at home in Blount Co. Alabama. He was the youngest of eight boys. Noah was eager to join the military because most of his brothers had served. His mother actually signed a waiver for him to join at 17 years old. He joined the Army and was trained as a Combat Engineer achieving the rank of E-5 in three years of service. Noah met Lillie Faye Dempsey in 1964 at the hamburger restaurant he owned. They eloped to start a new life in Texas and were married by the Justice of the Peace on December 24th, 1964, in Dallas. Noah and Faye had five children. He loved his kids and worked very hard at providing for his family. Noah trained to be a machinist at LTV when they came to Texas. He worked as a machinist for 50 years, from 1966 to 2016. He retired from Progressive Inc. of Arlington in 2016 at the age of 73.

He was a very hard worker, working 6 days per week 12 hours per day for most of his years. He will be remembered as a good provider, protector, and patriot by his family. Thank-you, Jesus for the life of Noah Garland Phillips.

Noah was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Phillips and Elvie Phillips, and seven brothers, Joseph, John Carl, Aubrey, Ernest, Edward Asbury, Bennett, and Douglas.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillie Faye Phillips; son, Dwight and wife, Carrie of Godley; daughter, Teresa and husband, Kelly of Rendon; son, Dwayne and wife, Jackie of Farmersville; daughter, Sharon and husband, Todd of Terrell; daughter, Wanda and husband, Kenneth of Godley; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and one more coming soon.
