Nicholas “Nick” Martin, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, in Cleburne. He was born December 9, 1948, in Madison, Tennessee.

Nick’s gentle spirit and big heart were evident to all who had the privilege to know him. He was a devoted companion, best encapsulated by his adoration for his beloved Linda. Whether among friends or strangers, Nick consistently demonstrated a thoughtfulness and generosity that made others feel valued and cared for.

For 26 years, Nick dedicated himself as a driver for Little Debbie, faithfully serving his community before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment to his job garnered the respect of his colleagues and served as an example of reliability and humility.

Life’s simple pleasures brought Nick the greatest joy. He was known for being easygoing and unpretentious, always prioritizing the needs of others above his own. Nick cherished his time spent traveling the world, making memories, but also took equal delight in the quiet moments at home. He had a special affection for his animals, considering them members of his family and accompanying friends throughout his life’s journey.

Nick's interests reflected his zest for life. A true sports enthusiast, he enjoyed both baseball and football, with a particular loyalty to anyone except the Dallas Cowboys. He also bred and sold freshwater fish, sharing his passion for aquatic life with others. Physical activity was important to him; he loved long-distance biking and walking, embracing each day as an opportunity for adventure and reflection.

Above all, Nick will be remembered as a simple, kind soul who left lasting impressions through gentleness and unwavering support for those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure to share in his journey.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle Bruce Martin and Genevieve Eleene (Eaton) Martin; daughter, Charlotte Dawn Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Hermelinda (Chacon) Martin; sister, Cari Barrington; brothers-in-law, Frank Chacon & his wife, Lydia, Sammy Chacon & his wife, Lisa, Jimmy Chacon & his wife, Mary, Serapio Saucedo & his wife, Mary; sisters-in-law, Anita Bermudez & her husband, Robert, Lety Gonzalez, Norma Lizarraga & her husband, Frank, and Sara Moran; his fur-babies, Mittens and Nico, and host of other relatives and close friends.
