Nancy Sue Marbut Clinkscales, 80, a beloved wife, mother, granny, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024 in Ennis, Texas. She was born on June 25, 1944, in Covington, Texas, to Ray and Ruby Bean Marbut. Nancy graduated from Covington High School in 1962 and continued her education at Hill Junior College.
On June 6, 1969, Nancy married the love of her life, James Clinkscales, Sr., and they shared a beautiful life together. Nancy dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as a Teacher's Aide at Covington ISD for 26 years, touching the lives of countless students with her kindness and patience before retiring in 2003.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Covington, Nancy’s deep-rooted faith and generous spirit were evident in all aspects of her life. She cherished her family above all.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Susan Clinkscales and Jeff Floyd of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Amy Bleiler and husband Kevin of Palmer, Texas; granddaughter, Madeline Clark and husband, David of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Lane Henslee of Rio Vista, Texas; step-grandson, Mikey Clinkscales of Lake Worth, Texas, and brother, David Marbut of Joshua, Texas.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, James Clinkscales, Sr; step-son, James Clinkscales, Jr.; step-granddaughter, Jamie Stafford; parents, Ray and Ruby Marbut and siblings, Patsy Sullivan, Bonnie Fowler, Jimmy Marbut, and Dorothy Marbut.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. Nancy will be laid to rest in Harris Creek Cemetery in Tyler, Texas at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Nancy Sue Marbut Clinkscales leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to others. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
