Muriel Hamilton

Graveside service for Muriel Charles “Charlie” Hamilton, 96, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Rosehill Cemetery with Dr. Neale Oliver officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the funeral home.

Charlie went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born April 6, 1927 to Louis and Stella Hamilton in Cleburne. Charlie graduated from Cleburne High School in 1944. He married Dolores Ward on November 9, 1952 in Cleburne. They had been married for 68 years. They enjoyed traveling in their RV to all 50 states and Providences in Canada. After graduating from Cleburne High School, Charlie was drafted into the Army for 2 years. He worked for the Chrysler-Dodge Dealerships in Cleburne, starting at Brantley-Wyatt Motor Company and retired from Jack Hewlett Autoplex. Charlie was very active at Henderson St. Baptist Church, where he served as an ordained deacon, Sunday School teacher, and served on the Building and Grounds Committee.

He is survived by his daughter, Darla Hamilton of Cleburne; sons, Steven Hamilton of Elko, NV, and Kenneth Hamilton and his wife, Sharon of Rio Vista; granddaughters, Dana of Emory, TX, Katie and her husband, Brandon Kessler of Tulsa, OK, and Stephanie of Bardwell, TX; great-granddaughters, Jacee Whitley of Stephenville, TX, Madison Kessler of Tulsa, OK, and Mariah Kessler of Joshua, TX; great-grandson, Charles Edward Hamilton of Bardwell, TX; sister, Ona Pritchard of Cleburne; niece, Jan Easthouse of Paris, TX; family, Tyler Jack, and sons, Kyler and Kamden of Paris, TX, Dillon of Dallas, TX, and Katie and Patrick Smith and daughter, Audrey of Celina, TX; other family members and friends, including extended church family.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Stella Hamilton; wife, Dolores Hamilton; and grandson, Thomas James Hamilton.
