Mildred Martha Willis

A funeral service for Mildred Martha Willis, 88, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church Youth Chapel, located at 114 S. Fairview St, Keene, TX 76059, with Pastor Travis Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Keene Memorial Park Cemetery, Keene. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, Texas 76033, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Mildred Reiter was born in Era, Cooke County, Texas on September 14, 1937, and died on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at her home in Cleburne. On April 15, 1962, she married Frank Willis and from this marriage three children were born: Gordon Willis, their only son, and the oldest child, who lives at their home in Keene, Gwen Hart, oldest daughter, residing in Cleburne and Grace Parish, youngest daughter who lives in Keene; three grandchildren, Christy Hart, Kevin Parish and Megan Parish.

For 26 years, Mildred did what she enjoyed doing most of all-teaching school. She worked 3 years in the church school system and 23 years in the public schools of Keene and Alvarado. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and gardening. She also enjoyed sewing and playing her piano.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, J. Frank Willis; her parents, Carl Reiter and Olga Belz Reiter; sisters, Frieda Gensler, Elizabeth Massey, Betty Hallsted, Minnie Skidgel, Ann Young, and Lillie Irvin; brothers, Immanuel Reiter, Rudolph Reiter, Reuben Reiter, Louis Reiter, Leonard Reiter, and Marvin Reiter.

She is survived by her children, Gordon, Gwen and Grace; grandchildren, Christy Munoz and husband, Michael, Kevin Parish, Megan Parish; great-grandchildren, Nova Munoz and John Munoz; sisters, Doris Sadau and Mary Ann Brown and husband, Richard, and a host of many distant relatives.

Mildred was a very caring person, a devoted wife, a wise mother, a loving sister, and a loyal friend. She died as she had lived-awaiting Jesus! Even as a child, when she noticed a small black cloud in the sky she would say out loud to anyone around: “MAYBE JESUS IS COMING NOW!”
