Mike Hansen, born August 15, 1946, in Ridgecrest, California, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2026, in Cleburne. He was a man remembered for his warmth, resilience, and remarkable spirit, touched by a love for family, sports, and service.
A true patriot and Vietnam veteran, Mike carried his military service with pride, a testament to his thoughtful and resilient character. His loyalty extended beyond his country, as he was an avid and passionate supporter of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers—sports teams that fueled his competitive spirit and camaraderie. Mike’s great sense of humor was a cherished part of his personality, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
He was also known as a huge animal lover, reflecting his kind and generous nature that extended to all living creatures. Mike’s thoughtful demeanor and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate to know him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Peter and Margaret Jean (Bob) Hansen, sister-in-law, Patricia and brother-in-law, Tony Gomez.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hansen; son, Patrick Hansen & his wife Christy; stepson, William Schaule & his wife Denise; grandchildren, Emma Hansen, Erin Hansen, Jordan Schaule, Ryan Schaule, and Trey Schaule; sister, Ann Wells & her husband Dick; nephews, Shannon Wells and Rick Wells; cousins, Nancy Bob, Patti Bob, and Stephen Bob; loving dogs, Sadie and Fritz whom he treasured so much; a host of friends and his church family.
Mike Hansen’s life was a profound example of generosity, devotion, and resilience. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who loved him.
Mary would like to thank Karl and Jayne Jones for their unwavering support, many visits, their love for Mike and for going above and beyond to make it possible for him to be baptized. Also, a very special thank you to dearest friends, Bobby and Karen Payne who were there with them, physically and emotionally, and every other possible way for more than five years during all of Mike's many health challenges. Lastly, a huge thank you to all their family and friends who loved Mike and supported, listened, and cried with them over many years.
As Mary's mother, Marie McMath, used to say, "You all have earned stars in your crown."
