A funeral service for Michael (Mike) Glen Claunch, 80, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033, with Reverend Ken Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery located at 405 Waters St, Cleburne, Texas 76033 with Charlie Anderson, Nathan Raines, Les Doty, Chester Nolan, Jerry Cash, William Byerly, Kevin George, and Wayne Worthy serving as pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to service.
Michael (Mike) Glen Claunch passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Cleburne. Born on May 9, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, Mike lived a life filled with joy, love, and dedication to both his family and his passions.
A proud veteran, Mike served in the Army for six years, achieving the rank of specialist 5. His service reflected his dedication to those around him and a commitment to something greater than himself. Beyond his military career, he was known as a prankster, particularly at work, where he brought laughter and joy to his colleagues. Mike dedicated his time not just to work but also to his hobbies, which included collecting antiques, restoring old oak furniture, and restoring an old Model A Farmall tractor.
Mike was a member of First United Methodist Church Cleburne. He was employed with the City of Cleburne for 34 years and retired in 2008 as the Community Service Director overseeing 11 departments.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Morgan Joe Claunch of Arlington.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Claunch; daughter, Amy Stegall, and her husband Kevin of Athens; two fur babies, Jacy and Meggie; one nephew, one great-nephew, two great-great nieces and numerous cousins.
As we remember Michael (Mike) Glen Claunch, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and the warmth of family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
