Michael "Mike" B. Evans, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas after fighting lung cancer and other health problems the past year. Born on May 16, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, Mike lived a life filled with service, love, and dedication to his family.

Mike proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. His military journey began in Wichita Falls, Texas, before he was transferred to Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines in 1967. As a Crew Chief and Flight Engineer on a T-39 Saber, he played a crucial role in transporting VIPs to various locations throughout Thailand, China, Japan, and Vietnam during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged in 1969, carrying with him the values of duty and commitment that he would embody throughout his life.

Following his military service, Mike worked for Braniff Airlines in Minneapolis, Minnesota before joining Texas Electric in Colorado City. He later transferred to Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas, where he dedicated 28 years of his life before retiring in 2000.

A lover of adventure, Mike cherished his time spent on the lake, where he enjoyed fishing and gathering with family and friends. On August 26, 1988, he married Eloise Hawkins McKinney in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their bond thrived on shared passions, especially their love for travel, which was epitomized by their fondness for cruising. In 2011, they moved to Cleburne to be closer to their granddaughters, where they created beautiful memories watching them play volleyball and grow.

Mike was deeply involved in his community, becoming an active member of the Cleburne Masonic Lodge, where he made many friends and contributed significantly. He was also a devoted member of Henderson Street Baptist Church, finding joy and fellowship within its congregation.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Evans; mother, Rexalie Evans; brothers, David Evans and James Evans; and sister, Donna Hardy.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Eloise; sons, Anthony "Tony" Evans of Chicago, Illinois, and Christopher Evans and wife Deana of Watauga, Texas; stepson, Randy McKinney and wife Stacy of Cleburne, Texas; daughter, Marcy Broom of Cedar Hill; and grandchildren, Lauren McKinney, Madie McKinney, Jessica Evans, Ellie Evans, Samantha Evans, and Elizabeth Donias.
