Melissa "Bob" Massey

A funeral service for Melissa Lynn Prather Massey, 64, of Godley, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2026, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033 with Reverend Kenneth Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Hill County with Kevin Ripley, Zach James, Robby Hamm, Steve McLaughlin, David Hamm, and Robin Beeman serving as pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the funeral home.

Melissa "Bob" Massey, born on April 19, 1961, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Godley, Texas. Melissa was a devoted wife and a cherished mother, daughter, grandmother, and sister. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. She shared a deep bond with her family and embraced her role as "GBob" to her beloved grandchildren, Scout Henderson and Creed Henderson. Melissa found immense joy in spending time with them, creating special memories that they will hold dear for a lifetime.

Throughout her career, Melissa dedicated over 20 years to her work in administration at Lockheed Martin, where her exemplary work ethic and camaraderie made her a respected colleague. Outside of her professional life, Melissa had a love for music, particularly enjoying the sounds of the Turnpike Troubadours. She also cherished the simple pleasures of life—spending quiet moments on her back porch, relishing nature, and caring for her beloved pets, including her dog Gus and her cat Misty Kitty. Her fondness for animals extended to her cows, who also brought her joy.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her aunt Sarah Gant, and her father-in-law Bobby Ray Massey.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Billy Massey, and her daughter, Lacy Henderson, and her husband Garrett; grandchildren, Scout Henderson and Creed Henderson; her parents, Bill and Sue Prather; her sister, Melinda Reynolds and her husband Tom, Bonnie Smith, Barbara Barresi and her husband Robert, Bridgette Bailey and her husband Butch, Bennie Kent, Brandi Profetta and her husband Dave, and Brendi Nobis and her husband Kevin; her mother-in-law, Ann Massey; her brother-in-law, Bobby Don Massey and his wife Amy, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.

Melissa "Bob" Massey will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
