A visitation will be held in honor of Maurice Byron Moses, Jr. 89, of Cleburne, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel, located at 512 N. Ridgeway, Cleburne, Texas, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate. Maurice will then be interred at St. Johns Cemetery in Dime Box, Texas, with services beginning at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Maurice Byron Moses, Jr., beloved father, husband, grandfather, and brother, passed away on April 24, 2025, in Big Springs, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on December 20, 1935, in Dime Box, Texas, to Maurice and Mildred (Piwetz) Moses, Sr. Maurice was known for his fun-loving spirit and vibrant personality. He was not only a very good dancer but also someone who had no trouble expressing his love for both his family and his Lord.

Maurice proudly served his country in the Air Force Reserves, a testament to his dedication and commitment. His life was filled with cherished moments, including a delightful sense of humor as evidenced by his lighthearted joke about refusing to pay his Uber bill. He was a man who embraced life with joy and laughter, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted spouse, Mary Joann (White) Moses, who stood by him through life's journey and her children: Anthony and Jon Veal, Roy Gene Veal, Terry Mangrum, Jaye Mangrum, Danny Cogdill and Helen Shirley. He is also survived by his three children: Darrin Moses, Tamara Payne and Linda Osorio, who adored him deeply. He was the proud grandfather of Sharanna Payne, Kari Payne, Jeff Payne, Cayla Payne, and Anthony Osorio, all of whom will carry forward his legacy. Maurice also had honorary granddaughters, Alyssa Cogdill, Isabelle Veal, and Abigail Veal, who were dear to his heart.

Maurice shared a strong bond with his siblings: Allan Moses and wife, Rebecca, Dorothy Moses, and Pam Arnold and husband, James, as well as his brother, Guy Moses and wife Cynthia.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Moses, and his nephews, Anthony Moses and Jeff Payne.

Maurice Byron Moses, Jr. lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
