Mary Alice (Norris) Carroll

Mary Carroll, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024 at the age of 71. Her life was a testament to love, dedication to her family and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Mary was born on June 12, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Zaccheus C. (Jack) and Thelma "Jo" Norris. The youngest of three children, she grew up in Arlington, Texas, in the home her father built. Mary attended Arlington schools throughout her life and graduated from Arlington High School in December of 1970. During high school, she found a job she loved working with animals at Leonard's Department Store in the pet department. It is here she met the love of her life, Jerry Carroll. They married on February 6, 1971, and together built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Mary and Jerry had three children: Jennifer, Jack, and Jessica. Mary had a deep love of family and found immense joy in creating a warm, welcoming home. Her passion for family life led her to transition from various accounting and secretarial roles to becoming a dedicated stay-at-home mom. She found purpose in nurturing her family, curating cherished memories, and serving her community. Her continued love for animals was evident in the many pets that brought life and joy to her home. Her deep love for music, family traditions, and holiday celebrations created lasting memories for those around her. Whether through beautifully adorned holiday decorations or delicious homemade meals, Mary always made her loved ones feel at home

In addition to her dedication to her family, Mary was active in her rural community. She worked closely with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office to establish a neighborhood watch program, demonstrating her commitment to fostering a safe and connected community.

Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Carroll; her children, Jennifer Carroll and her fiancé Justin Ross of Dallas, Texas, Jack Carroll and his wife Amanda of Fairfax, Virginia, and Jessica Clingan and her husband Alex of Grandview, Texas; and her grandchildren, Ashton and Chance Bell, Logan Soules, Elijah Huffman, Graison and Alissa Carroll, Zeke and Rhett Clingan, and Leona and Briana Ross. She is also survived by her nephews, Brian and Neil Norris and Greg Haws as well as numerous cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jo Norris; her brothers, Mike and Steve Norris; and her beloved horse, Irish.
