A graveside service for Mary "Jean" Turner, 98, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2026 in the Rosehill Cemetery located at 960 E. Second St., Cleburne, Texas 76031, with Mr. Clyde Slimp officiating. Brian Turner, Brad Turner, Joe Witkowski, Matt Turner, Leo Magana, Charles Day, Mark Day, Kenneth Lee, and Scott Kirkpatrick will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, located at 512 N Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033 on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Mary "Jean" Turner, a cherished member of the Cleburne community known for her warmth and compassion, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on June 26, 1927, in Johnson County, she graced this world with her spirited presence.
Jean was a wonderful and loving individual, characterized by her kindness and playful nature. A true "social butterfly," she delighted in the company of others and had a genuine love for people. Her sharp mind found joy in puzzles and word searches, reflecting a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and mental engagement. Professionally, Jean dedicated 17 years of her life serving the Cleburne Independent School District.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. Turner; parents, William Thomas Durham and Laura Bulla Parrott; sister, Iris Roberts; and brothers, James and Raymond Durham.
Jean is survived by her sons, Don Turner & his wife Susan, and Bill Turner & his wife Susan; daughters, Linda Witkowski & her husband Stan, and Jean Ann Day & her husband Allen; grandchildren, Brian Turner, Brad Turner & his wife Summer, Joe Witkowski & his wife Shelly, Tina Kirkpatrick & her husband Scott, Jennifer Magana & her husband Leo, Matt Turner & his wife Makenzie, Charles Day & his wife Amanda, Kim Lee & her husband Kenneth, Mark Day & his wife Linda; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Mary "Jean" Turner’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and joy. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
