A graveside service for Mary Ellen Hopps, 91, of Keene, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Keene Memorial Park, located at 301 Pioneer Drive in Cleburne, Texas with Pastor Benjie Leach officiating.

Mary Ellen Hopps, beloved mother and cherished friend, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on September 6, 1933, Mary Ellen dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for over 50 years. Her nurturing spirit, combined with a warm heart and quick sense of humor, endeared her to all who knew her.

Mary Ellen was more than her profession; she was a loving mother who held family above all else.

An avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, Mary Ellen held season tickets beginning with the team's inaugural season, proudly cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Her love for the game was matched only by her commitment to helping others, a trait that defined her life and legacy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, H. C. Hopps, her parents and siblings. The absence of a loving wife and family will be felt deeply, but Mary Ellen’s spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched.

Mary Ellen is survived by her son, Gary Hopps, and his wife, Alexandria; brother-in-law, Jim Hopps, and his wife, Barbara; niece, Eryn Hopps; nephew, J. M. Hopps, and his wife Joy and a host of other beloved family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
