Marilyn Halsell, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Keene, Texas. Born on August 2, 1933, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Marilyn lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and a radiant positivity that touched all who knew her.
A deeply devout Christian, Marilyn’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was known for her eternal optimism and joyful spirit, qualities that endeared her to her family and friends. Throughout her years, she embraced the roles of wife, mother, and “Mimi,” giving boundless love and care to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent in their company.
Marilyn’s professional career was distinguished by 26 years of dedicated service teaching nursing at Tarrant County Junior College. Her commitment to education and nurturing future generations of nurses reflected her generous spirit and steadfast dedication to helping others. In her later years, Marilyn found happiness in painting and gardening, pursuits that allowed her creative and nurturing sides to flourish.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Don Halsell; her parents Jesse and Elvira Nixon; her sister Nickie Allen, and brothers-in-law Don Allen and Jim Bob Halsell. She is survived by her son, Eric Halsell and girlfriend Andrea Foster; her daughter, Nilda Tull and husband Bob; grandchildren Michael Halsell and wife Crystal, Kaitlyn Roberts and husband Chris, Julie Stanbaugh and husband Luke, and Melissa Tull; great-grandchildren, Mikey Halsell, Noah Halsell, Lyla Halsell, Travis Roberts, and Daisy Roberts; her sister Shirley Halsell, sisters-in-law Mollie Prowant and Yoshiko Halsell; former daughter-in-law Shirley Halsell, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Marilyn Halsell’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity remains an enduring inspiration to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and devotion, and she will be deeply missed yet forever remembered.
