A time of visitation for Maggie Pearl Wheeler, 83, of Cleburne, will be held for family and friends to gather and fellowship from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Maggie Pearl Wheeler passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on November 9, 1942 in Wolfe City, Texas. She married Gary Van Wheeler on April 19, 1987 in Cleburne. They were married 31 years at the time of his passing in 2018. Maggie’s favorite title was “Granny”. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maggie was spent countless hours in her yard and tending to the many flowers she grew, all of which brought her great joy. She was the ultimate George Strait fan as well. Maggie enjoyed crocheting and made several crocheted dolls as well as quilting. She worked for many years in the cafeteria, cooking meals for the residents of Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Maggie was a dedicated member of College Heights Baptist Church, where she also served as librarian for years. Maggie had a quiet spirit, a big heart, and bubbly personality. She loved to laugh with those around her, especially her husband, Gary. Maggie will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurell Thurman and Maggie Parstenia Norman Fretwell; husband, Gary Van Wheeler; step-son, David Wheeler; and six siblings.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Clark (Ann); daughter, Loretta Clark; step-son, Ray Wheeler (Malinda); step-daughter, Carol Warren (Bobby); grandchildren, Nitasha, Brandon, Caitlin , Corinne, Aubrey, and Chase; step-grandchildren, Crimsen, Joe, Vanessa, Brady, Cassie, Abby, and Damien; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Fretwell; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
