Mablene passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Mablene was born on April 10, 1943, in Leon, Oklahoma, to Sylvester V. Flatt, and Stella Leona (Hyman) Flatt.
On August 15, 1959, in Grand Prairie, Texas, Mablene married her middle school sweetheart, Rodger Dale Linthicum. Their story began like one out of a fairy tale. Dale was a football player, and Mablene a school cheerleader. Together, they had three beautiful children and raised two of their grandchildren and several others along the way.
Mablene was of the Baptist faith and focused on embodying the love of Christ in everything that she did. Her spirit was compassionate and her kindness knew no boundaries. She was gentle, yet witty. Mablene touched countless lives through her unwavering generosity, in which she demonstrated throughout her daily life. She was a walking testament that true love is shown through actions rather than words. No matter the circumstance or the story, she met people where they were with open arms and an open heart, ready to help, comfort, and nurture as only she could.
The depths of her love and the warmth of her presence left a beautiful, lasting mark on countless lives. Her family and friends will miss her beyond words but find comfort in knowing that she is now safe in the arms of Jesus, at home with the Lord she loved and served so faithfully. As scripture assures us in 2 Corinthians 5:8. “We are confident and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” She is now in harmony, with peace and joy in his presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodger Linthicum; son, Ricky Linthicum; mother, Stella Flatt; father, Sylvester Flatt; brothers, Robert (Eldon) Flatt, Donald Flatt, Richard Flatt; sister, Velma (Rene) Nabors, and daughter in law, Cassie Linthicum.
