A funeral service for Lois Annell (Blake) Howard, 82, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, Texas with Mr. John Haffner officiating. A private burial for family will follow. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 1:00 -2:00 PM prior to service. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or to Christ's Haven for Children.
Lois Howard, a cherished member of the Cleburne community and faithful member of the Granbury Street Church of Christ, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born on December 25, 1943, in Cleburne, Texas, Lois lived her life rooted in the values of faith, family, and service to others.
Lois was a caretaker at heart whose dedication to her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Known for her strong will and positive spirit, she was a great conversationalist who possessed a genuine heart for the elderly. Always engaged and "in the know" about the happenings within her community, Lois was a remarkable presence whose interests were as diverse as her character. She found joy in studying her genealogy and reading the Bible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Buddy" Howard, and her parents, Carlton and Lera Blake.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Leanna Howard Cartier & her husband, Michael; sister-in-law, Linda Reilly & her husband, Larry; her niece, Brenda Tanner & her husband, Jim; great-nieces, Madelaine, Annabel, and Ella; cousins, Arlene Davis & her husband, Charles, and Irene Woodard, as well as many friends.
Lois’s life was a testament to strength, compassion, and an enduring faith. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt special thank you to her sister-in-law, Linda and her husband, Larry Reilly; Rowena Lawson; the aides from Caring Senior Services; the third-floor medical staff at Texas Health Cleburne; Dr. Sandhya Bejjanki; and her hospice care team from Wings Over Texas.
