Lila Mae Harris Mitchell

Graveside service for Lila Mae Harris Mitchell, 85, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 26, 2024, in Venus Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Lila passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Cleburne. She was born July 12, 1938 in Nemo to H.P. (Harve Pope) and Willie Mae (Small) Harris. She was of the Christian faith. Lila married Hubert “Pee Wee” Bingham in 1964 in Cleburne. She was an avid reader and funny as a hoot. She had a strong will, raising her five kids on her own and countless others too. Lila enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her children, Tom Horton, Ricky Horton, Stella Taves, “Boozy” H.L. Bingham, and Patti Knox; grandchildren, Tyson, Mickayla, Ashlee, and Nicolas; great-grandchildren, Caeson, Sawyer, Addy, Kharri, Julianna, Beau, and Karli; sister, Betty Lou Mears; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends,

Lila was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Ross Harris, Bea Peikoff, Frank Harris, Joe Harris, and Doug Harris.
