Laverne Stewart

Graveside service for Laverne Stewart, 74, of Keene will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2021 in DFW National Cemetery.

Laverne passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, in Fort Worth. She was born March 7, 1947, in Fort Worth to Jack and Martha Pearl Mitchell Ward. Laverne married Robert Glen Stewart on January 27, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan. She was an executive secretary for the City of Keene and the Airline Industry with over 30 years of service. Laverne was a member of the Church of Christ.

Laverne is survived by her daughter, Tami Smith and husband, Jerry of Rockwall, Texas; brother, Curtis Wood of Ft. Worth, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, which include her 3 nieces who were her caregivers, Teresa Eppars and husband, Don of Granbury, Texas, Kristi Taylor and husband, John of Cleburne, Texas, and Kim Mathis and husband, Ken of Joshua, Texas; 5 sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ward of Cleburne, Texas, Mary Ward of Joshua, Texas, Barbara Stewart of Detroit, Michigan, Geri Burris of Detroit, Michigan, and Diane Stewart of Detroit, Michigan; and brother-in-law, James Stewart of Detroit, Michigan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Richard, and Weldon Ward.
