Laverne Lewis

Laverne Lewis, 91, of Mansfield passed away January 6, 2022 in Mansfield. Open viewing will be 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lewis was born September 19, 1930 in Henrietta, Texas to Margaret Jane Tennessee (Tennie) and John Dewitt McMullen. She moved to Keene from Abilene in 1942. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist school (8th grade to Freshman in College). She then married Jack Oliver Lewis July 16 1949. they were married over 49 years when he died in 1999.

Mrs. Lewis worked at Brandons in Keene for 11 ½ years. Retired from First State Bank in Keene after 17 years. She then returned part time for over 6 years before retiring for good. She then volunteered at Walls Hospital in Cleburne for 5 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Jack O. Lewis, Jr. of Keene; daughter, Nita Prosser and son-in-law, Tom Prosser of Arlington; granddaughter, Paige Miller and husband, Matt Miller of NSB, Florida; grandson, Steve Yannarell and wife, Casie of Waikoloa, Hawaii; great grandchildren, Alisha Walker of NSB Florida, Stevie Yannarell of San Diego, California and numerous nieces and nephews.
