A graveside service for Laura Ann McCandless Ford, 75, of Joshua, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Crowley Cemetery located at 300 N Hampton Rd, Crowley TX 76036, with Pastor Bob Parker officiating. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home located at 512 North Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne TX 76033 on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Laura McCandless Ford was born August 1, 1950, and raised by her parents, Reid and Dorothy McCandless. She passed from this life on April 3, 2026, in Cleburne, TX. Laura’s family moved to Randlett, OK community when she was 5 in 1956 and she attended Big Pasture School through the 7th Grade. She made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at a young age at Randlett Baptist Church and remained a devout Christian the rest of her life. Her family moved to Burkburnett, TX in 1963 where she graduated high school in 1968.
No matter the circumstances, Laura always projected a strong, positive attitude with strong faith and a song in her heart.
Laura had a beautiful voice and sang at many school functions, weddings and community theater in her years in Burkburnett. In her adult years she enjoyed singing in the church choir and a vocal ensemble made up of a dear group of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Ford and her parents, Reid and Dorothy McCandless.
Laura was the mother of two daughters who survive her, Kelly Sells, her husband John and Sara Taylor. She loved her grandchildren: Kelly’s children - Erica, Claire and John David, and Sara’s children – Dorothy Taylor Jackson, Noah Taylor and Avery Taylor. She had one great granddaughter, Raelynn Jackson. She is also survived by a brother, Richard McCandless of Fort Mill, SC.
