Pauline Mears, a cherished and beloved woman, known for her unwavering devotion as a mother, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on May 29, 1936, in Glen Rose, Texas, Pauline lived a life characterized by her profound care for others, consistently placing the needs and well-being of those around her above her own.
Throughout her life, Pauline was widely recognized as an all-around wonderful person whose boundless generosity and warmth touched everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Her remarkable ability to nurture and support her family made her a cornerstone to those she loved. She was also well known and loved for her feisty spirit and exceptional cooking skills.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Virgil Blackwell and Vera (Keenum) Blackwell, her beloved spouse, George Washington Mears, her siblings, and her stepson, George Mears.
Pauline is survived by her children, Charles Mears and his wife, Vicki Walton; Ethel Homan and her husband, Randy; and Leon Mears; her grandchildren, Cassandra Zopp, April Miller, Katy Walton, Zackary Walton, Christopher Homan, and Kyle Mears; her step-grandchildren, George Mears, Jimmy Mears, Jake Mears, and Chet Mears; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Zopp, Kathleen Zopp, Matthew Zopp, and Mason Miller; as well as great-great-grandchildren.
Pauline’s passing leaves a profound void, yet her spirit, the lessons she imparted, and the love she sowed among her family and friends will forever illuminate their lives. Her compassionate heart and vibrant character remain a guiding light to all who knew her.
