Larry Lewis Curlee, born on November 1, 1947, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully in his hometown on June 13, 2025. He lived a full life characterized by his passions for the outdoors, sports, and family.

Larry was known for his adventurous spirit as an avid hunter, particularly enjoying elk hunting in the beautiful landscapes of Colorado alongside his son. This love for the outdoors extended to raising Fox Hounds and pigeons, nurturing a deep connection with nature that reflected his appreciation for the world around him.

In addition to his pursuits in hunting, Larry was a sports enthusiast who relished in the excitement of the game. He was a dedicated fan of Texas Ranger baseball and passionately supported Texas Tech, often sharing his enthusiasm for these teams with those around him.

His legacy is marked not just by his hobbies, but by the memories he created with family and friends during countless outings and gatherings. Larry's zest for life and commitment to his interests left an indelible mark on those who knew him.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Colleen (Johson) Curlee and sister, Brenda Curlee.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carol Curlee; children, David Curlee, Greg Curlee & Kim and Marcy Hicks & Trevor; grandchildren, Jessica Hawkins & Michael, Stacey Curlee & Tyler Morris, Dylan Hicks, Abby Curlee, Ashlyn Hicks; great-grandchildren, Carter Hawkins, Celeste Hawkins and Westen Morris.

As we remember Larry Lewis Curlee, we celebrate a man whose life was rich with adventure, love for family, and a spirited embrace of life’s challenges and joys. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
