Service for Judy Read, 92, of Cleburne will be conducted at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 in the Joshua Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Bob Stauffer will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Mrs. Read passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 in Cleburne. She was born April 22, 1921 in Tenaha, Texas to William A. and Lucy Bryan King.

Mrs. Read was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University in 1951, where she was elected the first Homecoming Queen that the college ever had in 1939. She was a third grade teacher, retiring with 28 years of service. She resided in Tyler, Texas from 1965-2004, teaching third grade at Bullard ISD for 15 years. She was a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Martin Read and wife Cheryl of Burleson and Stylle Read and wife Nancy of Cleburne; two sisters, Mary Alice Rains of Dallas and Billie Linzy of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Savannah Read of Great Mills, MD and Erica Stubbs and husband Matthew of Ennis; and one great grandchild, Preston Read of Great Mills, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Martin Lewis King and a sister, Charlcye Boyd.
