A funeral service for Judy Ailene (Fuller) Johnson, 81, of Covington, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel located at 5123 N. Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, TX 76033 with Pastor Roy Gee officiating. Interment will follow in the Covington Cemetery with Kelly Tarver, Jesse Lancaster, Jason Hargrove, Shannon Henzler, Ky Martin, Dustin Ledbetter, Brian Sutter, and Jimmy Burk serving as pallbearers. David Johnson and Harold Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 -8:00 PM at the funeral home on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Judy Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend to all, passed away September 16, 2026, with her family by her side. She leaves behind a profound legacy of love, dedication, and open-hearted care for her community.
Judy was born at Knox Hospital in Cleburne, Texas, to the late L.D. and Ethel Fuller of Covington. Growing up alongside her sisters, Shirley and Ginger. Judy spent her youth working in the cotton fields and helping tend to the family farm, developing lifelong work ethic and deep devotion to family. On October 3, 1964, she married the love of her life, Bobby Johnson, with whom she shared a beautiful and lasting marriage.
After attending business college, Judy utilized her skills as a professional bookkeeper and secretary. She spent many years serving the children and staff at the Covington and Grandview elementary schools, becoming a staple of the local school system.
Judy truly spent her life taking care of children in one form or another. Alongside raising her own three children, she and Bobby opened their home as foster parents to 18 foster children. Beyond that, Judy was a "mama to them all", taking in countless extra children over the decades, ensuring they were well fed, received necessary medical care, or simply felt loved and sage wen hey needed it most. She was also an incredible cook, legendary throughout the area for her delicious homemade pies.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, L. D. and Ethel Fuller; sister, Ginger Brown, and son Leland Johnson.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bobby Johnson, daughters, Andrea Tarver & her husband, Keith of Euless, and Tiffany Johnson & her husband, Mike of Alvarado; daughter-in-law, Julie Johnson of Spring; sister, Shirley Johnson; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Kade, Tania, Preslee, Tuesday, and Max; 2 great-grandchildren, Henry and Olsen; and one sweet great-grandchild on the way.
