Joy Brooks

Graveside service for Joy Brooks, 86, of Lubbock, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Caddo Cemetery in Joshua. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Joy Brooks passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Lubbock. She was born June 13, 1928 in Godley to Raleigh and Polly Walker Bryant. She married Robert Vernon Brooks on September 3, 1948. Mrs. Brooks worked as a rural mail carrier with the USPS until retirement. She was a long-time member of Reece Prairie Baptist Church and an avid Texas Aggie. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Brooks and Randy Brooks; daughter, Cheryl Weekes; sister, Joan Armstrong; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Vernon Brooks.
