Family and friends will gather for graveside memorial service for Joby at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 1 P.M.

Joseph Young (Joby Young) 82, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on December 7, 1939, to Marguerite (Dowdy) and Clyde Young. He was raised in Cleburne, Texas and graduated from Cleburne High School in 1958. In his 20’s and through his 30’s, he was a road foreman working for MC Winters and later Dahlstrom Corporation building the I-10 interstate system here in Texas. He then spent the remainder of his working career as a plant supervisor for Centex Corporation at Brazos Point Sand and Gravel and a heavy machinery operator and mechanic. After his retirement, he moved to Leakey, Texas where he spent his days tinkering in his shop, mowing his pasture, tending to a small herd of longhorns and enjoying the view of the Frio Canyon. Joby absolutely loved and adored his family and friends, his B-Model Macks and his Heavenly Father. His avid storytelling was second to none and we will greatly miss gathering around the table to listen to one of the countless stories that he so loved to share.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clyde Wilbern Young.

He is survived by his children, Ben Young and wife Libby, Britt Barron and husband Troy and Jenny Eggleston and husband Bill; his grandchildren, Ty Fossett, Chelsea Epp and husband Justin, Madison Heald and Jack Young; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Epp and Lylah Jennings; his dearest friend and confidant Shirley Shehorn along with a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memories be made to your local hospice or a charity of your choice.
